Meet our President
Carlee Smith is a junior Kinesiology major with a minor in biological sciences and hopes to go to Physical Therapy school following graduation. She is from Pensacola, Florida and decided to come to USM when she toured the school and fell in love with the comfortable atmosphere and the friendly people here.
Carlee is the first member in her family to join Tri Delta, but found family in the members of this organization. While going through recruitment in fall 2016, it was not difficult for her to realize she wanted Tri Delta to be her home. Each day when she walked through the doors she felt comfort in where she was and could not wait to come back the next day. She met women whose values aligned with her own and she could see the passion these women had for each other and their philanthropy. These were just a few of the things that made her decision to join Tri Delta so easy. Her past three years in this organization has continued to validate her choice as is has taught her more about friendship, growth, and herself than she ever knew before. Her most valuable memories made have been the little moments spent with her friends, whether it is watching movies on a rainy day, going out to dinner, or daily trips to target, these simple times getting to know the other members of Tri Delta are the ones she will cherish the most. She says, “the members of this chapter have taught me more than I could have ever imagined. They continue to seek out the best in each other and have pushed me to achieve things I never thought I had to ability to do before joining Tri Delta. These women continue to show me how to live brave, bold, and kind and I will forever be thankful for the influence they have had on my life.”
