Sarah Day is a junior, broadcast journalism major from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Sarah chose Southern Miss because she loved the strong sense of community. While she has been on campus, she has been on the USM Southern Miss Dixie Darlings and served as their Lieutenant in 2014. Now, she is involved in student tutoring where she tutors French and History.
As a legacy of another chapter, recruitment was challenging for Sarah. Going through she had pressures from her mom to go a certain sorority, however she continued to go through with an open mind. By the second day of recruitment, Sarah had fallen in love with Delta Delta Delta. Their passion for St. Jude and the genuine conversations she had were her deciding factor.
"I was surrounded by beautiful women on the inside and out. I knew that Tri Delta would push me to the best possible version of myself." -Sarah
On bid day Sarah's mom came, wearing Tri Delta colors, and has supported her endeavors ever since.
"My mom was great! She showed up, dolphins in hand, and threw a delta with me on bid day! I realized then that yes, she wanted to share a special part of her life with me, but in the end it was my four years. I have never regretted my decision; Tri Delta has made me the woman I am today."
Sarah will graduate a semester early this December, she plans to attend Graduate School at Louisiana State University.
